Rep. Tom Reed hosted over 175 local manufacturers, industry experts and elected officials on Friday, June 20, 2018 at Alfred State Lake Lodge for the largest ever Annual Manufacturing Summit.

"The Manufacturing Summit was a great opportunity to network and learn about the America Makes program," Co-Executive Director of Incubator Works, Alan Rae said.

“Congressman Reed continues to lead the effort in leveling the playing field for our manufacturers," Lee Ann Tinney, Director of Economic Development Planning for Tioga County said. "The annual Manufacturing Summit offers an opportunity for companies, resources and agencies to come together to share ideas, challenges and changes in policy and technology.

“I always learn something new and look forward to attending every year," Tinney concluded.

“The American Institute for Manufacturing Integrated Photonics (AIM Photonics) is an excellent example of a successful customer-driven implementation of the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) as written into law via the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation (RAMI) Act," AIM Photonics Corporate Outreach Executive and Associate Vice President for Test, Assembly, and Packaging, Ed White said.  "AIM Photonics drives next-generation technological advances in integrated photonics right here in New York State, and is proud to support manufacturing in the United States."

"I am happy to see our annual Manufacturing Summit grow year after year,” said Tom. “I care about listening to manufacturers in our district and bringing their voices back to Washington.

“I gathered a sense of optimism with industry experts and manufacturers and am hopeful that connections were made to spur growth in our region," Tom concluded.

"Alfred State was honored to host the Manufacturing Summit,” President of Alfred State College, Skip Sullivan said.  “Our history is rich in developing the skilled workforce needed by business and industry and specifically manufacturing.

"Western New York is poised for a resurgence and Alfred State College is invested in helping to make it happen.  We appreciate Congressman Reed's passion for improving our area of the state," Sullivan concluded.
